Taraweeh Prayers

LGIC

In alignment with city noise ordinances, our prayers will conclude by 10:30 PM. We will pray 8 rakats each night, led by Imam Albaraa Abdullah, focusing on the corresponding juz for that night. The men will pray in the main prayer hall and multi-purpose room (see map on pg. 6) and the women will pray in the auditorium. We kindly ask everyone to maintain quietness outside the mosque after 10 PM.

PROSPECT CENTER

We encourage minimal noise outside after 10:30 PM. 20 rakats of taraweeh will be led nightly by Imam Hasan Lohos. We’ll have a short khatera between Isha and taraweeh lead by Ustadhs Basil Farooq and Omair Kamil. Overflow parking is available at the nearby synagogue (19700 Prospect Rd.).

GENERAL

All community members age 6 and above are encouraged and expected to participate in, or respectfully listen to the prayers. For a serene prayer environment, please do not have conversations in the prayer hall. Turn your phones on silent before entering the prayer hall. Our volunteers, identifiable by lanyards, are here to assist with maintaining order. Your cooperation in keeping the prayer hall peaceful and in following the prayer line etiquette is greatly appreciated. For your convenience, we recommend bringing your own water bottle and prayer rug.

BABYSITTING DURING TARAWEEH

To support parents during Taraweeh prayers, WVMA is offering babysitting for children aged 2-5 at LGIC Friday to Sunday for $5 per child. Space is limited and is on a first-come first-serve basis. Please ensure your child has eaten beforehand, as no food will be provided. All children must be potty trained. Parents are required to remain on-site and respond promptly to any notifications regarding their child.

PLEASE NOTE

We are in the process of updating our use permit for LGIC. We highly encourage the community to be strict about noise levels, driving, and overall courtesy when attending prayers at LGIC. If the parking lot is full, we highly discourage street parking and recommend alternate locations for prayer.
